THE TOUR
Long ride, 42 miles, Wayzata to Mayer and back, NOON departure. NOTE: Part of our group will be waiting in Mound so departure needs to be timely!
Wayzata riders will enjoy a 9 mile ride on the Luce LIne Trail along Lake Minnetonka. We will encounter traffic so be prepared.
The long ride group will meet up with the short ride group in Mound. Estimated arrival in Mound is 12:30 but this is dependent on traffic during this busy week. We will have communication between the groups so Mound riders will be updated on our progress.
Short ride, 24 miles, Mound to Mayer and back. Estimated departure 12:30.
After the two rides merge in Mound, we will follow the Dakota Rail Regional Trail, an easy and beautiful ride on the newly resurfaced trail. This 12 mile part of the tour takes us through beautiful countryside filled with farm animals, fertile fields, forestry land and wonderfully landscaped homes. There's always something to see!
The path is a gentle and completely paved trail with occasional traffic crossings. There are pile post barriers at either side of some of the roads we cross (to stop ATV traffic). While narrow, they are easily passable by our Pedegos.
Before turning around at Mayer, we will visit the Carver County Veteran's Memorial, a unique and special tribute to all branches of service through the ages.
Pedego owners who wish may stop and return to Mound or Wayzata on their own.
- Mackenthun's in St. Boni can provide coffee and a snack (they close at 6 pm) or Grumpys for burgers, pizza and fries.
- Sovereign Estate winery has wine tasting and, often, entertainment.
Renters and Pedego owners may also visit
- The BEST ice cream shop in Mound, just steps off the trail.
