    THE TOUR

The Park is 4900 square acres with 30 miles of asphalt trails.

We will have one ride on Thursday at noon (southern loop plus ride on Rush Creek Regional Trail to the Mississippi Regional Gateway Park - 24 miles) and another ride on Friday morning at 9:00 (Elm Creek exterior loop ride - 16 miles). Each ride will offer places to stop and relax or explore.

The Elm Creek Park Reserve is an outdoor lovers’ dream. At 4,900 acres, it’s the largest park in Hennepin County. The park provides enough amenities to keep people coming all year round. Cyclists especially will enjoy the 30 miles of well-paved twists, turns, climbs and dips. (Separately, there are an additional 13 miles of mountain biking trails).  The trails circle round the park in a loop, offering an interesting way to experience the diversity of landscapes, flora and fauna that the reserve has to offer.  Within the loop, riders will wind through open prairie, quiet wooded corridors, lakes, waterways and wetlands.

      • The southern loop (Thursday route) provides a particularly demanding ride - except for Pedego riders! It’s a coaster of miles of punishing climbs and exhilarating downhill runs.
      • The northern section (Friday route) tends to be both flatter and quieter; you might see the occasional bicyclist. Take advantage of this to glide along the asphalt while enjoying unspoiled panoramas. The trail is shared so cyclists should be aware of walkers and runners.

Option: Wednesday night ride (5:00 pm - 13 miles). Candy and Kathy will be staying in a cabin at Elm Creek Park. We will arrive Wednesday afternoon and will be taking an early evening ride; this ride will be on paths entirely in the park. Anyone in the area is welcome to join us. When ordering, please select Option if you wish to join us.

Meals and lodging (as needed) are on your own.

Check here for details on the Park.
