This event will be based in Hibbing. All rides will start and end in Hibbing.
All accomodations are the responsibility of the rider.

NOTE: Each rider please register individually.

OWNERS: This ride is $20 for Pedego owners.

POG GUEST/RENTERS: Bike Rental $80 plus $20 for the ride, $100 total.

TOUR START: These tours will start and end both days at the at the Hibbing Trail Access, 1201 Greyhound Boulevard, Hibbing, MN 55746, next to the Greyhound Bus Museum - which provides parking for trail participants.

NOTE: The Mesabi Trail requires a Wheel Pass. You may purchase the pass yourself (3-day $10 or Annual Pass $20) on line when you arrive in Hibbing.

THE TOUR: We will have one ride on Wednesday afternoon (eastern loop) and another ride on Thursday morning (western loop). Each ride will offer many places to stop and relax or explore.

Candy and Kathy will be staying in Hibbing. We will arrive Tuesday afternoon and will be taking a night ride. Anyone in the area is welcome to join us. If you wish to join us, please contact Kathy directly at 612-986-7934. The evening ride will be to Carey Lake, 8 miles round trip. This is on an asphalt trail paralleling Dupont Road. The lake has a sandy swimming beach and a fishing pier.

The Mesabi Trail is a regional trail that passes through the heart of North Hibbing. The Mesabi Trail is a 10ft wide, paved (asphalt) bicycle trail. Ideal for biking, walking, hiking and running. Stretching from the Mississippi to the Boundary Waters, with almost 150 miles of paved trail, the Mesabi Trail is like no other in the country. Cutting through the forests of northeast Minnesota, your adventure will take you past lakes, creeks and ponds, by vast red pits of old iron ore mines now filled with emerald green water. You are sure to be greeted by native wildlife during your travels.

Carey Lake Park

Established in the mid 1960’s and at 1139 acres, Carey Lake Park is Hibbing’s largest park. The park is mostly pristine and undeveloped and contains forested and wetland areas including 139-acre Carey Lake. Carey Lake, also known as DuPont Lake, is located about five miles east of Hibbing, MN and within the St. Louis River Watershed. The small lake is 139 acres with a maximum depth of 13.5 feet and 2 miles of shoreline. There is a small boat access on the east side with limited parking availability. There is a <10 hp outboard restriction on the lake and seaplane base on the southwest side. There is one seasonal outlet (Carey Creek) to Dempsey creek. A 4.25 mile asphalt bike trial runs from Hibbing Community College into Carey Lake Park. The bikeway parallels Dupont Road (25th St.) for 3 1/2 miles.
