Hok skis are a combination backcountry ski and snowshoe. They are a hybrid ski that brilliantly combines maneuverability of a snow shoe with gliding qualities of a cross country ski.
The underlying mid-section skin grips when going uphill and gives minimal drag on glide. No waxing is required.
Additional Features
Any winter or hiking boot will work in the Universal binding. It's wide width accommodates almost any boot. Although two sizes are available (125 and 145 cm), the shorter fits almost all adults. The binding has ratchets on toe and ankle straps making on and off very quick. Skins, while very hardy, can be replaced if necessary.
Poles (additional purchase)
Use of any ski or hiking pole, while not necessary, allows for even greater stability.
